Postcards from Iran:
Towards an Axis of Understanding

by Make Films Not War

World War III?  "Serious Consequences."  "Nuclear Option."  For anybody watching the news lately it's become clear that a concerted, coordinated, and well-funded propaganda campaign has been unleashed to demonize Iran, to scare and confuse the American people, and to lay the groundwork for a preemptive U.S. attack on that country.  Incredible as it might seem, history is repeating itself.  But only if we let them repeat it.

Make Films Not War is jumping into the media battle for hearts and minds to stop the next war in its tracks, by supporting the grassroots resistance against such a disastrous and illegal act of aggression.  We are working with a broad array of Iranian filmmakers, photographers, musicians, and scholars to produce a vibrant series of films, photo exhibits, and music concerts that truthfully portray Postcards from Iranthe country and its people as they largely are: over 70 million kind, educated, cultured, mostly young, and overwhelmingly peace-loving people.  These presentations will be made available for teach-ins, public events and conferences, and viewable online -- so that we can quickly combat the right-wing spin machine that seeks to play upon our worst fears and instincts.  Our Iran series is built upon the contrary belief that only through dialogue and a commitment to nonviolence can we develop solutions to the political, economic, and social problems of our increasingly shrinking planet.
